Gas leak in Melbourne's CBD

Fire crews are responding to a gas leak in Melbourne CBD and are likely to be on scene for hours.

MBF firefighters were called to the leak in Crossley Street about 10.15am on Monday after maintenance workers ruptured a gas pipe.

Crews are dispersing the gas with hose lines and measures have been put in place to restrict gas from entering surrounding buildings. Police and paramedics are also at the scene.
