Gaze likes three-guard Kings NBL threat

Sydney NBL coach Andrew Gaze will consider playing all three of his star guards simultaneously more often, after finally getting the chance to watch them perform together.

In Saturday's 104-101 home loss to fourth-placed Adelaide, Kings' captain Kevin Lisch made his return from a calf injury, which had sidelined for almost three months.

Gaze finally has the headache of trying to divvy up the point guard minutes between Lisch, fellow NBL MVP Jerome Randle and Boomers representative Jason Cadee.

When Lisch entered the game off the bench late in the first quarter on Saturday, he joined Randle and Cadee on court.

While the lack of height of the trio means Gaze won't play them together for extended periods he liked what he saw on Saturday.

He also admitted he would need to do it sometimes to ensure all three got their ration of minutes.

"If we're going to get them minutes, we don't have a choice, Gaze said.

"You're going to find a way to get some minutes for them, you have to, because otherwise the sums don't add up.

"But I actually like it, I like the look that we can provide.

'It might put some challenges on the defensive end, but I think it can give us some advantages on the offensive end and it's something we want to cultivate.

"It won't be something we do for a long stretch of the game, I think it will depend on the circumstances, but I think it can be productive and it's certainly worth a look at."

Sydney are running last of the eight teams with a 5-16 record and out of finals contention.

Gaze said their last seven games would show which players wanted to be part of the Kings roster after this season, with several of them believed to be coming off contract.

"Judgements will be made, reviews will be done, who knows what lies ahead, but we don't control that," Gaze said.

"What we can control is our heart, our determination and most importantly your commitment to each other.

"Sure as hell, no-one is feeling sorry for us and there's a lot of people enjoying our pain.

'That's the nature of being a Sydney King, that's the nature of Kevin (Lisch) being successful, that's the nature of the reputation I have, that there's unfortunately many that love seeing us suffer."
