International cricket will return to Geelong for the first time in almost 40 years, with the city to host a Twenty20 double-header this summer.
Australia will face Sri Lanka in a three-match T20 series on February 17, 19 and 22.
The fixtures will all be double-headers, with the Southern Stars also in action.
Cricket Australia (CA) is expected to reveal the T20 venues and full 2016/17 women's international schedule on Monday.
It's understood Simonds Stadium has been given the green light to host its first international fixture since being part of Kerry Packer's World Series Cricket revolution in 1977-78.

Simonds management is keen to host more BBL action, while the venue has also been floated as a contender for mid-level matches when Australia hosts the World Twenty20 in 2020.
