Genderless fashion is set to shine at Melbourne Fashion Week with a young Sydney designer among the creators to showcase their pieces.

Gendered fashion has been given the boot in a Sydney-sider's label set to make its runway debut at the upcoming Melbourne Fashion Week.

Emerging label TalaMade creator Tala Surace has thrown out the rule book to create edgy street fashion, in monochrome with voluminous silhouettes for all people.
Tala Made says all its products are "created in line with menswear sizing and functionality, however are intended for all genders and identities".

The 21-year-old designer blends Gothicism with modern-day streetwear to create an androgynous look to change how fashion is perceived.

The brand's debut collection 100K ZONE and some pieces from the upcoming second collection 100K ZONE: UNLIMITED will be showcased on the opening day of Melbourne Fashion Week in the Highrise Runway series.
Designers including A.BCH, AMXANDER, Chris Ran Lin and MNDATORY will also be on show at the series to take place on the 85th floor of the Eureka Tower on August 28.

It comes as genderless fashion has been on the rise among Hollywood A-listers with actor and singer Billy Porter sporting a tuxedo dress at this year's Oscars.

Melbourne Fashion Week runs from August 28 until September 5.
