Geoffrey Rush wins BAFTA

An absent Geoffrey Rush has won the best supporting actor award at this year's British Academy Film Awards in London.

Rush earned the BAFTA for his portrayal of Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue in The King's Speech.

He was unable to collect the award at the Royal Opera House on Sunday night because he's currently working on stage in New York.

Rush is still in the running for the best supporting gong at the Academy Awards on February 27 for his portrayal of the Australian speech therapist who helped cure King George VI's stammer.
