German backpacker missing from Byron Bay found

NSW Police announce that missing German backpacker Jacqueline Kupke has been found.

German national Jacqueline Kupke who was last seen one week ago on June 1 in Byron Bay has been found safe and well, police say.

The 20-year-old woman was located in Byron Bay.

Her disappearance had been reported to the Tweed/Byron Police District when she failed to show up for work on June 7.

Police had made contact with the woman's family in Germany who told them her disappearance was "out of character". 

In statement police thanked the community and the media for their assistance.
