German bride crashes car on way to wedding

A bride in Germany who diverted to her parents' home to pick up the rings she had forgotten, has crashed en route to her wedding and ended up in hospital.

A German bride, who was hurrying to her wedding after driving to her parents' house to collect the rings she had forgotten, has been injured after crashing her car.

Police said the 25-year-old, who was not wearing a seatbelt because of her wedding dress, was flung around the car when she lost control on a wet country road near the town of Babenhausen, near Frankfurt.

Her car hit a guard rail and flipped onto its roof on an embankment.

Her passenger, who police said was not the groom, managed to pull the woman and two other injured female passengers to safety.

All three women were taken to nearby hospitals.
