Penrith legend Mark Geyer has engaged lawyers after his family was dragged into an ugly scandal at his old NRL club.
The broadcasters and former NSW forward was angered after a Facebook page made claims against one of his family members
Geyer responded to the post, which has since been deleted, asking who was responsible for the page and how he could track them down.
And on Tuesday he released a statement via radio station Triple M saying he planned to sue those responsible.
"I have today engaged Brydens Lawyers to act on behalf of my daughter ... for the purpose of taking action against those who have published false and defamatory material which has caused incredible distress for my family," Geyer said.
