GG visits troops in Kabul

Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove has visited Australian troops in Kabul to thank them for working to build a better future for the Afghanistan.

Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove has told Australian troops in Afghanistan that their task is challenging but not thankless.

During a trip to Kabul, the former Army chief thanked defence force personnel for their service and said they were working to build a better future for Afghanistan and its people.

Sir Peter also met with the President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, His Excellency Dr Ashraf Ghani, the Chief Executive, His Excellency Dr Abdullah Abdullah, and Australian Embassy staff at Resolute Support Headquarters.
