Giants Netball have moved into second spot on the Super Netball ladder after defeating the Adelaide Thunderbirds 63-44.
The Giants won every quarter at AIS Arena in Canberra on Sunday to pull within four points of league leaders West Coast Fever.
But the Giants will be sweating on the fitness of a number of key players as they prepare for next Sunday's derby clash with the NSW Swifts.
With veteran mid-courter Kim Green already sitting out, Giants import duo Serena Guthrie and Jo Harten were forced from the match due to injury.
Guthrie was left dazed after a clash of heads with Adelaide's Charlee Hodges in the second quarter, the England international subbed out for the rest of the game after attempting to play on for a couple of minutes.
Harten was a dominant force through three quarters, finishing with 30 goals from 34 attempts before exiting early in the fourth with a calf complaint.
Defender Sam Poolman also left the court in the first quarter after receiving a cut to her nose but returned to the action in the second term.
The bottom-placed Thunderbirds battled hard to stay in touch during a physical opening but the Giants took control with an 18-9 second quarter and stayed in front.
Even with a disrupted line-up, the Giants had too much cohesion for a struggling Thunderbirds side that committed 33 turnovers.
Thunderbirds shooter Shimona Nelson finished with 23 goals from 27 attempts but was also responsible for 14 of her team's turnovers.
"It was a bit of a weird game," Harten told the Nine Network before suggesting her calf issue being nothing more than cramp.
"We are moving towards finals now. We want to be more clinical and I'm just so proud of everyone today.
"To put out the performance we did without Kimmie on the court, it's extra special."
Green was absent from the match as a precautionary measure for a lower leg injury.
Green suffered a season-ending knee injury when the Giants played the Sunshine Coast Lightning in Canberra last year.
Green was replaced in the Giants squad by youngster Latika Tombs, the daughter of 94-test Australian netball legend Carissa Tombs.
