A report into the federal government's controversial school buildings program will be released today, Prime Minister Julia Gillard says.
Ms Gillard, who held the education portfolio before toppling Kevin Rudd, appointed businessman Brad Orgill to head up an investigative taskforce into the Building the Education Revolution scheme in April.
It followed concerns the $14.1 billion Primary Schools for the 21st Century element was riddled with waste and rorting.
"He is releasing his taskforce report today," Ms Gillard told ABC Radio on Friday.
"That will obviously be analysed and scrutinised during the course of today and I'll have some things to say publicly about that later today after Mr Orgill has released his report."

The prime minister defended the scheme generally, saying "we did respond to protect jobs during the global financial crisis".
