A teenage girl has been charged with five counts of assaulting police, affray, resisting arrest and malicious damage after a brawl in Wollongong on Friday night.
Officers from Wollongong Police Transport Command had attempted to arrest a 14-year-old girl observed attempting to flee the scene of an altercation.
During the arrest, the girl allegedly assaulted an officer by punching him in the face.
She continued to resist and kick out at officers, also spitting in an officer's eye.
While being placed in the back of a caged police vehicle, she allegedly spat on and kicked another officer.
In custody she allegedly assaulted further officers, scratching and punching a female officer's arms causing lacerations, punching another senior constable in the head several times, and kicking another in the knee and groin.
The girl was refused bail and will face a children's court on Tuesday.
