It could be one, five or 100 - all Darius Boyd cares about is having a Queensland jumper to wear at State of Origin time, not the number that's on the back.
Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett has called for the Maroons to finally play Boyd in the fullback position he's made his own at NRL level after Billy Slater's shoulder injury ruled the Melbourne custodian out of this year's State of Origin series.
Bennett insists moving Boyd to No.1 and keeping Greg Inglis in the centres is Queensland's best option, especially following Justin Hodges' retirement.
Boyd has played all 23 of his Origin matches on the wing.
That's despite being a premiership winner at fullback as well as the position's Dally M player of the year in 2010.
"Every time Origin time comes around I'm stoked to be there," Boyd said.
"It's a great couple of weeks to be part of and as long as I'm in the team I'm happy."
A possible switch for Boyd to fullback could open the door to Origin hopefuls such as North Queensland's grand-final hero Kyle Feldt or Brisbane giant Corey Oates.
Boyd says the depth at new Maroons coach Kevin Walters' disposal is impressive.
"In years gone by we probably might have struggled with depth but there's a couple of guys there really chasing spots," he said.
"It puts pressure on the older guys to lift their game to get selections."
The Broncos have no such selection concerns going into Thursday's NRL clash with St George Illawarra.
Centre Jason Roberts trained separately on Monday as he continues to overcome a hip injury sustained in last weekend's win over Gold Coast.
Boyd however is confident the flyer will be fine to play the Dragons.
"He's getting niggling injuries at the moment and that kind of stuff but all the staff here are doing a great job with him," Boyd said.
"As long as he's keeps getting out on the field and producing the performances he has been then we'll be happy."
