A woman has died after falling off a cliff face in Queensland's Glass House Mountains.

Paramedics tried to revive the injured woman but she died at the scene on Thursday morning.

Acting Senior Sergeant Trevor Mills said it appeared the woman had fallen off a 50-metre cliff.

"We're currently undertaking an investigation as to the circumstances surrounding how she has fallen off the mountain," Acting Senior Sergeant Trevor Mills said.

She had been walking the summit track of Mt Ngungun and it had been difficult for emergency crews to reach her.
