Tourists have reportedly shrieked in terror as a glass panel on China's Brave Man Bridge, which is built along the side of Yuntai Mountain, cracked.

Lee Dong Hai, who was on the Yuntaishan walkway, in central China’s Yuntai Mountain Geological Park, when the panel cracked, posted a picture to the Chinese social media site Weibo.

China's People's Daily Online has reported a tourist posted on China's social media site Weibo: "I heard a bang from under…Everybody is screaming. I cried, ‘It’s really cracked! It’s really cracked!"

The site reported staff from the Yuntaishan resort confirmed the glass panel had cracked and the bridge was closed.

The People's Daily Online reported a staff member said a tourist dropped a thermos on the bridge and cracked one of the layers of glass.

The glass walkway opened on September 20.
