Perth Wildcats coach Trevor Gleeson hopes he will remain with the NBL club next season, but says he will enjoy the team's title success before asking for a new deal.
Gleeson is now out of contract, and will be hot property on the open market if the Wildcats don't lock him down.
The Sydney Kings and Illawarra Hawks are on the lookout for a new coach, but Gleeson is keen to stay with the Wildcats.
Perth's board stated earlier in the season that they would wait for the club's campaign to finish before addressing Gleeson's contract situation.
Gleeson has led Perth to four championships in six seasons, and has set his sights on continuing that golden run.
He says he will enjoy the current title celebrations before discussing a new deal with the club's hierarchy.
"Hopefully I'll stay here, but we'll find out shortly," Gleeson said.
"It's a great organisation. They support everything we do. Jack (Bendat) has been the best owner that I've ever been with.
"He supports us without a question, he puts faith in you. That's what you want as a coach.
"That (contract stuff) will take care of itself. Right now I'm just enjoying the smiles."
Another high priority for the Wildcats will be re-signing import Terrico White.
White starred in the 3-1 grand final series win over Melbourne, with his hot form rewarded with the MVP honour.
Skipper Damian Martin, Jesse Wagstaff, Tom Jervis, and Clint Steindl are the other Wildcats players out of contract.
Bryce Cotton, Nick Kay, and Mitch Norton have two more years to run on their current contracts, while Angus Brandt and Rhys Vague are locked in for next season.
The Wildcats celebrated their latest title success in front of about 1000 fans in the Perth CBD on Monday night.
Retiring veteran Greg Hire had a theory as to why the Wildcats won this season's title.
"The only reason we won is because I was retiring," Hire joked to the crowd.
Martin said to seal the title with a 97-82 win in Melbourne was special.
"It was incredible. It was better than lego to be able to win a championship on the road," Martin said.
