A line of vegetable rice sticks has been recalled by a South Australian distributor after gluten was detected in the products labelled gluten-free.

Mamee Monster vegetable rice sticks with a best before date of November 6, 2018, have been pulled from the shelves of Coles supermarkets in South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia.

"The product is safe for consumers to eat if they do not have a gluten allergy or intolerance," SA Health spokeswoman Fay Jenkins said.
