South Australia's ban on genetically modified crops has cost the state's farmers up to $33 million since 2004, a review has found.
The state government has released a review on SA's GM moratorium which has also found losses will increase by another $5 million if the ban is extended to 2025.
"Investment in agricultural science has suffered with the review finding the GM moratorium has discouraged both public and private investment in research and development in this state," Primary Industries Minister Tim Whetstone said.
