Google executive cops tax attack

The federal opposition has tax-related concerns about the Google executive expected to be appointed the new ABC managing director.

A Labor senator has attacked the Google executive who is widely expected to be appointed the first female managing director of the ABC.

There is speculation Michelle Guthrie will replace Mark Scott in the role.

"I hate to think that somebody who may be responsible for minimising taxes in Australia is going to be rewarded with one of the most plum jobs in Australian broadcasting," Senator Sam Dastyari, who leads a Senate committee examining multinational tax avoidance, told The Australian.
