Michael Gordon is enjoying an NRL career renaissance at the Sydney Roosters but doesn't know if he wants it to end this year.
Gordon, now 33, signed a single-year contract at the Roosters, and after 207 games at the top level, is yet to decide if he will play beyond this year.
The one-time NSW State of Origin representative has just finished building a house on the far north coast of NSW, where he has long planned to return post his playing days.
However, he says he won't make a decision on his future until the end of the season.
"I'm not in any rush to make a decision," Gordon said.

"I'm not one to want to keep playing for the sake of it. I'll probably make a decision at the end of the year.
"If this is my last year after the last game I'll just say I've had enough."
It's unlikely the Roosters will encourage that move though.
Gordon has been a revelation for them at the back, scoring four tries in their opening four wins, and setting up two tries.
By comparison, he only scored five tries last year at Parramatta.
"We still haven't clicked in attack and we're playing an attacking brand of footy," Gordon said.
"Pearcey (Mitchell Pearce) and Luke (Keary) looks like they have been together for a long time and I just chime in at the right time."
Gordon's signature at the Roosters raised a few eyebrows.
The Tri-colours appeared to have a ready-made fullback in Latrell Mitchell waiting in the wings, and most fans were keen to see him get a full season at the back.
But Gordon said coach Trent Robinson was immediately clear with him that he would wear the No.1 jersey and it's helped spark him back to his best this season.
"That gave me a lot of confidence to go away n the off-season, have a break and know I was coming back," he said.
"I knew I had to work hard and still earn it but it gave me a massive confidence boost there."
Gordon's body is now on his side if he continues playing.
Successive knee injuries cut him down in his prime in 2011 and 2012 at the Panthers but he has missed just one game through injury in the past three seasons at Cronulla and Parramatta.
And now he insists he feels like he's in his mid-twenties again.
"Everyone is pretty young here so it makes me feel young," he said.
