Indigenous employment was thrown back into the political debate with billionaire Andrew 'Twiggy' Forrest today accusing the federal government of not closing the gap in creating jobs.
The founder of Generation One has also called for an overhaul of failed policies and the public service, attacking what he labelled the "racism of low expectations".
Mr Forrest went to Canberra today to spell out his frustration at the federal government's employment initiatives, and it became more real when Mr Forrest named key public servants in his address saying employment expectations were very low.
“Let's scrap the old welfare approach. And back the one which works. High expectations towards Aboriginal people… let's not tolerate the racism of low expectations anymore,” he told the crowd.
But the Minister for Indigenous Employment told the audience the government was supporting the Aboriginal Employment Covenant.

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott also said that as part of his Strong Australia Policy, he wants to engage with Generation One and give it a go to increase employment rates of Black Australians.
