Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has accused the federal government of playing politics over a confidential volume of the trade union royal commission's final report.
Employment Minister Michaelia Cash has confirmed crossbench senators will be allowed to see the volume to help them deliberate on draft laws cracking down on union corruption, but it won't be made public.
"The royal commissioner said that no-one should see the confidential report. The Liberals are ignoring that and selectively showing some parts to some people for political gain," Mr Shorten told reporters in Brisbane on Saturday.
