Recently-retired chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission John Grant has been elected as chairman of the Rugby League International Federation, with former Scotland international Graeme Thompson his deputy.
Grant, a former Kangaroos international, succeeds former Rugby Football League chief executive Nigel Wood, who will take over as RLIF chief executive when David Collier steps down from the role in May.
Thompson, who has been on the RLIF board since 2011, was the first rugby league development officer for Scotland and, after joining the RFL, was appointed performance director in 2006 and was England's team manager for the 2008 World Cup.
