Greek rising star Stefanos Tsitsipas will make his Hopman Cup debut this summer, alongside a raft of tennis stars confirmed for the Perth tournament.

The world No.15 will pair up with Maria Sakkari, ranked 31st, for Greece in the mixed team tennis tournament which commences on December 29.

"I'm super excited to be playing in Perth and, together with Maria, being the first Greek team playing in Perth for many years," Tsitsipas said.

Twenty-year-old Tsitsipas exploded onto the men's tour just 10 months ago, and became the youngest player to beat four straight top-10 players in an event since the ATP World Tour began in 1990 at the Canadian Open last week.

"Playing in front of such an amazing crowd in such a nice city like Perth, it's like a dream come true for me," he said.

"I've worked so hard for it and being part of this event is so important for me."

Also confirmed to play in the Western Australian capital for the first time is two-time grand slam champion Garbine Muguruza and former world No.3 David Ferrer.

The world No.9 Muguruza will team up with veteran Ferrer for Spain - the pair will be looking to win the nation a fifth Hopman Cup title.

"I'm looking forward to Perth and to play there. I've heard so many things about Hopman Cup chatting about it to other Spanish people that went and they say it's magic," Muguruza said.

Spain will face fierce competition from the defending champions Switzerland, who will again be represented by 20-time grand slam singles champion Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic.

The 2018 runners-up Germany will be hard to beat again with Alexander Zverev and Angelique Kerber, both ranked No.4 in the world, returning.

Federer's presence was credited as a major factor in the record attendance at the last event at Perth Arena.

Australia and three other competing nations will make up the eight-team competition.
