A staple for toddlers around the world, Green Eggs and Ham has turned 50 and shows no signs of ageing.

A staple for toddlers around the world, Green Eggs and Ham turns 50 today and still isn't showing its age.

Written in August 1960, by Theodor Seuss Geisel better known as Dr Seuss, the book was written for a bet, only worth $50.

The wager was that Seuss could not write a book using only 50 or fewer different words. The book now sits in the childrens top ten best sellers list of all time.

Seuss is a household name,who has written classic children's books such as The Cat in the Hat and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.
