Young Australian rookie Hannah Green has as a second Symetra Tour title in her sights, holding a one-shot lead going into the final round of the Fuccillo Kia Classic of New York.
In her first season on the LPGA Tour's development circuit, 20-year-old Green has the chance to go top of the money list - and also win the car she's been wanting - if she can triumph on Sunday.
The Perth product shot a three-under-par 68 second round on Saturday to reach seven-under, one stroke clear of Mia Piccio of the Philippines (70) with American Kendall Dye a further shot adrift at Capital Hills in Albany, New York.
Green already has one victory to her name this season, at the Sara Bay Classic in April, and is keenly aware that three wins in a season would give her automatic promotion to the LPGA Tour.
She has enjoyed having her boyfriend Jarryd Felton, a fellow Australian professional golfer, as her caddie this week. He flew in from London after his US Open qualifier.
"I think he has made a big impact because I wasn't really swinging it that well coming into the week," said Green.
"It is nice to have someone from home here with me."
Green currently ranks seventh on the Volvik Race for the Card money list with $US24,868 earned in six starts. The first place payout of $US18,750 could move Green to No.1 on the money list.
Not only that, she can also win a 2017 Kia Forte LX car with a victory.
"I was thinking about buying a car to travel around with, but I didn't realise this was the week you could win a car along with the prize money," said Green. "That's a great incentive and it would be very nice."
