Green farmers to get carbon credits

Labor will introduce a scheme to give farmers credits to reduce and store pollution to be sold in Australia and overseas.

The sale of carbon credits on domestic and international markets will be put in place if Labor is re-elected.

Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced the scheme estimated to be worth about half a million dollars over 10 years .. at the Wollongbar Agricultural institute in northern New South Wales today.
