Boxing champion Danny Green has shared his underdog story with the NSW team in a bid to inspire the Blues for State of Origin II.
Green was brought into NSW camp on Tuesday afternoon where he showed them footage of his famous upset of former world champion Roy Jones Jr. in 2009.
Blues trainer Hayden Knowles was previously a conditioner for Green when the Perth-based boxer was based in Sydney roughly six years ago.
"(Hayden) asked me to come down, have a chat. He showed my fight against Roy Jones, just a bit of an underdog story and also about preparation," Green said.
"Yeah, I had a bit of a chat to the fellas, and they just asked the questions. It was more about preparation and that underdog mentality a little bit."
The Blues squad later padded up for what is now a traditional boxing session in the Brad Fittler era.
Fittler is hoping his team have plenty of fight in them as they attempt to send the series into a decider following their game-one defeat in Brisbane.
Queensland, who have made just two changes to their team from Origin I, are starting as red-hot favourites against a new-look Blues outfit.
Fittler made a total seven changes for the game in Perth, and Green believed the key for a high-stakes contest was to stay as calm as possible.
"I just tried to give a bit of feedback on how I handled myself before big occasions," Green said.
"These guys don't need to have a button pushed for when to go. It's more about pulling them back a little bit, staying relaxed, staying calm and staying cool."
Green is no stranger to being involved in the Blues' preparations, having once handed out jerseys to the players in 2011.
He was particularly keen to hold the pads for Blues wingers Blake Ferguson and Josh Addo-Carr, the grandson of the late Wally Carr.
"I reckon Blake could throw them, big Blake will have a crack. He's a pretty willing customer, got the reach too, as well," Green said.
"Got Wally Carr's grandson over there and Wally Carr recently passed away. Bless him, he was a legend of the fight game in Australia.
"So there's some good pedigree here."
