Greens name candidate in Perth by-election

The Greens have announced climate policy expert and campaigner Caroline Perks will be their candidate in the upcoming Perth by-election.

The federal Greens have announced their candidate to contest the upcoming Perth by-election following Labor MP Tim Hammond's decision to resign.

Caroline Perks, a Perth local, has worked as a public servant on climate change policy and has studied and campaigned on the issue in Australia and overseas.

"We need fair representation in parliament - young women, refugees, and people from all socio-economic backgrounds - it's meant to be the parliament of the people," she says on her campaign website.
