Greens senator faces internal challenge

Former Greens senator Robert Simms is seeking to oust Sarah Hanson-Young from the top spot on the party's South Australian ticket for the next election.

Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young is facing a challenge to her preselection for the next election.

Former senator Robert Simms announced on Tuesday he would nominate to be the party's lead candidate in South Australia.

"I'm seeking your number 1 vote in this preselection so that we can work together to revitalise our movement in South Austraia," he wrote to supporters on Facebook.
