Big-serving local wildcard Sam Groth is out of the Australian Open, falling to Belgian Steve Darcis.

Groth looked sharp in early before going down to world No.71 Darcis 3-6 6-3 6-2 6-2 on Monday night.

Groth was attempting to join five other Australians in the second round, led by Nick Kyrgios.
