GST increase makes no sense: Vic Premier

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says putting up the GST makes no sense.

Putting up the GST only to hand most of it back in rebates makes no sense, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews says.

He's rejected the need for an increase in the GST, which he describes as a ruthlessly efficient tax.

"(The GST) has no regard to a person's capacity to pay. That's why I don't support an increase," Mr Andrews told reporters on Monday.
