Gumbleton heads to Dockers in AFL trade

Essendon's top-10 AFL draft pick Scott Gumbleton will go to Fremantle in a deal struck on the last day of the trade period.

The injury-prone key forward was sent to the Dockers on Friday in exchange for pick 55.

Gumbleton only managed 35 games after he made his senior debut in 2007, including seven this season.

He struggled with a succession of back and hamstring problems.

The 25-year-old is the second forward to secure a trade out of Essendon, following Thursday's deal that sends Stewart Crameri to the Western Bulldogs.
