Gunman on run after Sydney shooting

A 21-year-old man remains in hospital after being shot in the leg and groin in Sydney's west.

A western Sydney woman has told how a man bleeding from gunshot wounds walked up her driveway.

She says she doesn't know the young man, who was shot in front of her home in Norman Street, Merrylands, just after 6pm on Monday.

"They were all standing in the street and somebody just walked by and just shot at him," she told the Fairfax Radio Network.

"He walked up my driveway while he was bleeding."

Police say the 21-year-old man was taken to hospital with leg and groin injuries.

They are still searching for the gunman.
