GWA eyes strong 2nd half after profit rise

Fitting supplier GWA Group's first-half profit rose 9.4 per cent to $26 million after a 2.7 per cent increase in sales revenue from bathrooms and kitchens.

Fittings supplier GWA Group has lifted first-half profit 9.4 per cent to $26 million, boosted by strong solid revenue growth in its key bathrooms and kitchens division.

Sales revenue for the six months to December 31 rose 1.4 per cent to $223.4 million, with the contribution from bathrooms and kitchens growing 2.7 per cent to $174.3 million.

Managing director Tim Salt said second-half earnings are expected to be slightly stronger, with a pipeline of yet-to-be completed residential construction activity set to soften the impact of an expected slowdown in new building work .
