Greater Western Sydney have inadvertently helped their cross-town rivals reach the AFL grand final, with this month's derby defeat stinging Sydney into action.
The Swans were shock losers in week one of the finals, when GWS overwhelmed and outclassed them at ANZ Stadium.
Sydney have since looked a different side in knock-out final wins over Adelaide and Geelong.
John Longmire's team claimed their spot in the season decider by breaking the Crows and Cats in clinical fashion, piling on a club-record seven goals in the first quarter of both clashes.
"The loss to the Giants was a little kick in the butt for us," Swans young gun Jake Lloyd said.

"It was a real wake-up call for us.
"We'd been playing good footy up until then and I guess we just didn't turn up to play against GWS.
"They were a lot harder in the contest, their run was a lot better than ours."
Lloyd noted the minor premiers got back to basics at training after the 36-point loss.
"We trained and drilled in the stuff that wins games of footy and stands up in finals," he said.
"We're really confident in the group that the way we've played the last
two weeks will stand up, if we can deliver that again on Saturday."
Longmire was upbeat his team would produce their best in Saturday's season decider against Western Bulldogs.
"It's a challenge. We try to do it every week but we don't always get it right," Longmire said.
"We didn't get it right a couple of weeks ago against GWS. As good as GWS were, we were disappointed with our efforts and intensity."
