Former Australian vice-captain Brad Haddin starred with the bat as Islamabad United won the inaugural Pakistan Super League, beating Quetta in the final.
Haddin smashed 61 of just 39 balls, which included five sixes, to chase down the Quetta Gladiators' 7-174 with eight balls to spare.
The wicketkeeper batman's brilliant knock backed up West Indian Dwayne Smith's swashbuckling 73 off 51 balls, as they cruised to a six-wicket victory in Dubai, with Islamabad captain Misbah Ul-Haq hitting the winning run in the 19th over.
Haddin, the tournament's 11th highest run scorer with a strike rate above 138, said his side were well-deserved champions.
"The tournament kept getting better and better for us," he said.
"The seniors guys needed to rise to the occasion and that's what we were able to do."
Haddin also praised coach Dean Jones and cricket director Wasim Akram, saying the legendary duo deserved "a lot of credit" in helping Ul-Haq lift the trophy.
Jones said the stars of the Islamabad line-up were ably supported by the side's less experienced players.
"Each and everyone has performed at a certain point of time," he said.
"Our bench strength was also good and we had the belief that we could go the distance."
Earlier, Big Bash League star and Islamabad paceman Andre Russell helped restrict Quetta's total with three wickets, with resistance shown by Quetta's Ahmed Shezad and Kumar Sangakkara who notched quickfire half centuries.
