'Hamburglar' breaks into burger shop to cook a cheeseburger

A man has been spotted on CCTV breaking into a hamburger restaurant to cook a cheeseburger before fleeing.

The intruder made himself a hamburger

Police are currently searching for the man, who followed a deliveryman into the Five Guys hamburger restaurant in Washington DC.

CCTV footage from the restaurant shows the man switching on a grill before grabbing ingredients from the kitchen to prepare his meal.

Washington DC Police said the man broke into the restaurant on Irving Street in Washington between 3am and 5am on March 18.

The man, who was wearing a fedora, helped himself to a drink while he was grilling, then took the burger and a bottle of water and left.

Police said the man did not steal any money or other items during his nighttime break in.

They are offering a $1300 reward for anyone with information on the identity of the man.
