Handcuffed man escapes in Melbourne

A handcuffed man has headbutted a police officer and climbed over a Melbourne backyard fence to escape police custody.

A handcuffed man who headbutted a police officer and escaped over a Melbourne backyard fence is still on the run.

The man, in his 20s, was arrested in Noble Park on Sunday morning with a 17-year-old girl but as police took him to the van he managed to escape.

The airwing and the police dog squad have searched for the man but he has not been found.
