People who work longer hours could be in line for a tax break, Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan has hinted.
"So that when people work a few extra hours, when they're on average incomes, they don't get hit for six," he told ABC Radio on Friday.
Swan was speaking ahead of the expected public release shortly of the Henry tax review.

Treasury Secretary Ken Henry on Thursday suggested marginal tax rates could be lowered for older workers to encourage them to stay at work.
Swan would not be drawn on that suggestion, beyond noting that people who worked harder should be rewarded.
"It's a question of putting in place the right incentives so people who work hard to make our country great get a fair go in the tax system," he said.
Dr Henry reportedly is also pushing for a clawback of fringe benefits tax concessions.
Swan said if there were any rorts in the FBT system then "of course they should be eliminated".
