Harris, Bancroft steady WA in Shield

WA have made steady progress at 2-115 at dinner on the second day of the Sheffield Shield match at the WACA in reply to NSW's first innings of 316.

Western Australia have survived the middle session unscathed thanks to Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft to be 2-115 at dinner on day two of the Sheffield Shield match at the WACA Ground.

NSW started the day in a solid position at 5-284 but they couldn't capitalise on that making just 32 runs in the morning session before they were bowled out for 316.

Doug Bollinger struck in successive balls prior to the tea break to remove William Bosisto (5) and Michael Klinger (0), but WA haven't lost a wicket since in the day-night.

Opener Bancroft has been steady, moving to 48 not out, while Marcus Harris has made a fluent 54 to move WA within 201 of NSW's score.

The Blues will be without spinner Steve O'Keefe for the rest of the game after he retired hurt while batting due to a blow on his right hand from Joel Paris.

O'Keefe has a suspected fracture to his index finger.

Earlier, Ben Rohrer added 10 to his overnight score before being caught behind off Michael Hogan for 78.

Sean Abbott and Gurinder Sandhu didn't score with Trent Copeland adding 15 runs.

Paris took 3-11 in 39 balls to start the day and finished the innings with 4-61 while David Moody and Hogan claimed two wickets each.
