Has the sexualisation of children gone too far?

One major retailer sparked outrage among parents and mental health advocates by marketing push-up bikini tops to eight-year-old girls. Some experts and parents around the globe are concerned that certain products and images aimed at selling products or services may encourage the sexualisation of children, with impacts on their social identity, and in some cases even direct sexual abuse at them. Are these concerns well founded or is it just a storm in a tea cup?
