Tony Abbott was asked by Kerry O'Brien on the 7.30 Report about his promise that there would be no new taxes under a Coalition government, before announcing a business tax to fund maternity leave. Abbott said that politicians often say things 'in the heat of the moment' and should not be taken in the same vein as 'carefully prepared scripted remarks'.

The government has seized on the comments, saying now people can't know if Abbott is speaking the turth of not.

Has this 'gaffe' changed your opinion of Tony Abbott? Was he merely being realistic, or has he damaged his credibility with these remarks?
