Illawarra Hawks coach Rob Beveridge will make a quick decision on his coaching future.
Out of contract after the 15-point semi-final loss to the Wildcats on Friday night, Beveridge will stay in Perth and ponder what do do next.
Hawks captain Oscar Forman said retaining the coach was crucial to keeping the main core of the playing group together - many of whom played this season on a one-year contract.
"When you bring someone like Bevo in and you have the positivity that we have and the inclusiveness of everyone involved; you've got big players playing for well under their worth," Forman said.
"You have people having more fun than they have had at other clubs and around the league, so I'm pretty confident that if we keep the main man around that everyone follows suit."

Beveridge took over the role at the end of last season after the Hawks claimed the wooden spoon with a 6-12 record. The club placed itself into Voluntary Administration.
Fast forward 12 months and they were punted from the NBL finals on Wednesday night by the Wildcats, just one game away from a fourth-ever grand final appearance.
The 2009/10 Wildcats Championship winning coach said he thought the expectations would be that a decision be made quickly.
"I'm super proud of that group. You look at where the club was - bottom of the ladder, six wins - finished in third place, one or two wins off first place. That's pretty special," Beveridge said on Friday.
"Well, I am back in Perth now and my family is here. I will be sitting down with them and trying to work out what my next step in life will be."
