Three-time Hawthorn premiership player Liam Shiels is out of action for up to a month with a hamstring injury.

Top side Hawthorn have lost front-line midfielder Liam Shiels for up to a month in the AFL with a hamstring injury.

The three-time premiership player suffered the injury in the second term of last week's win over Port Adelaide.

Jonathan O'Rourke could take his place for Thursday night's massive clash with second-placed Sydney.
