Hawthorn need to fix their misfiring attack and fast if they're to avoid a fourth straight AFL loss.
The Hawks will be hoping to climb back into the top eight when they host Port Adelaide in Launceston on Saturday but coach Alastair Clarkson concedes they'll have to conjure some more goals to do it.
They averaged 96 points a game on their way to a 5-2 record over the first seven rounds of the season.
But that's plummeted to 68 in a three-game losing run that has dropped them from fourth to 10th on the ladder.
"We think it's fixable but sometimes in this game it's hard to put a finger on the reason why," Clarkson told reporters at Melbourne Airport on Friday.
"We were regularly kicking 14-15 goals or more in the early part of the season and that's dried up a little bit in the last three or four weeks.
"We've just got to get a little bit better with the way that we use the ball. We're coming up against a really good side this week who use the ball particularly well.
"We need to defend well but when we get our chances we've just got to take them a bit better than what we have."
Full-forward Jarryd Roughead has kicked just three goals across the past three games yet Clarkson has used him further afield to plug gaps as the side falters.
The Hawks have made two changes for the clash, replacing Mitchell Lewis and David Mirra with Tim O'Brien and Daniel Howe.
Hawthorn have been defeated at their Launceston fortress just once since 2012 (by St Kilda last year) and the Power, currently ninth, will visit the venue for the first time since round 20 of 2012.
"We're hoping it's a bit more difficult for them to play there than Adelaide Oval because they're very formidable over there," Clarkson said.
"If that gives us some sort of slight advantage we'd like to take it because they're a good side."
Ken Hinkley's outfit have the benefit of coming off a bye after defeating Gold Coast in Shanghai, with Port naming the same line-up.
