Gambling identity Eddie Hayson on Thursday claimed that he had never attempted to fix a Rugby League match.

“All these allegations and innuendos about match fixing are total fabrications and lies,” he said.

“Police have been given false information. They have been sold a lemon and have passed that on to some members of the media who then, without supporting documentation, have gone public with it,” Hayson said.

The New South Wales Crime Commission has set up a task force to investigate allegations of corruption in the NRL.

Two Manly Sea Eagles matches from last season and one from this year are at the centre of the investigation.

Hayson also revealed he provided Rugby League players with free sex when he was the owner of a Sydney brothel.

In a further bombshell, Hayson said he attempted to put 30 thousand dollars in a betting account owned by NRL star, Kieran Foran.
