Hazlewood added to Blues one-day line up

Paceman Josh Hazlewood will be out to impress Australian selectors in the remainder of the one-day cup after being added to the NSW squad.

Josh Hazlewood will aim to press his claims for an Australian pace battery berth in the Gabba Test after being added to the NSW squad for the rest of the one-day cup tournament.

Hazlewood joins the unbeaten and international-strength Blues line up for their last two regular round fixtures, against Queensland and Victoria, as well as the finals.

The 24-year-old is in a battle with fellow pacemen Peter Siddle and James Pattinson for spot in the Australian starting XI for next month's opening Test against New Zealand in Brisbane.

Hazlewood hasn't played since the fourth Ashes Test loss at Trent Bridge, having been rested for the Blues' opening games of the domestic 50-over tournament.

He will take the place of fellow Test paceman Mitchell Starc for the side's clash with Queensland at Sydney's Drummoyne Oval on Friday.

Starc, who has taken 19 wickets in four matches this tournament, will only miss the one game and is expected to be back to take on the Bushrangers on Sunday and for the finals.

Hazlewood played the opening four matches of the Ashes series in England before being rested for the fifth Test at The Oval.

In his place, Siddle took seven wickets and made a strong argument to be selected ahead of Hazlewood against the Kiwis.
