A cyclone warning for Queensland's Gulf communities has been cancelled.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued the warning for coastal and island communities from the Northern Territory-Queensland border to Pormpuraaw on Sunday.
At 3am (AEST) on Monday the system was a tropical low over land northeast of Karumba and slowly weakening, meaning it is unlikely to develop into a cyclone.

A strong wind warning remains in place for eastern Gulf waters.
The bureau predicts heavy rain that may lead to flash flooding in the Gulf, Cape York, Cairns, Innisfail and south to Mackay.
A man was rescued on Sunday night from the roof of his ute after driving into floodwaters at Eton, near Mackay.
It was one of many water rescues in the area, the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) says.
Firefighters retrieved the man from his ute in Mirani Eton Hill Road and took him to hospital as a precaution.
Mirani received 204mm of rain on Sunday.
