Queensland will be boosted by the return of batsman Sam Heazlett from international duties for their Sheffield Shield clash with NSW, starting on Friday at the SCG.

The left-hander has been included in the Bulls' 13-man squad after making his ODI debut against New Zealand in Auckland, while uncapped left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann is also in line for a start.

It has been a quick rise for 20-year-old Kuhnemann who was made a Bulls Rookie at the start of the season and is currently playing for the Queensland Academy of Sport against NSW in their Futures League clash at Blacktown International Sports Park.

The Bulls are third on the Sheffield Shield ladder after their 133-run demolition of Tasmania, while the Blues are fourth.

NSW prevailed by 225 runs when the sides met in round one.

Qld: Chris Hartley (c), Joe Burn, Jason Floros, Peter Forrest, Cameron Gannon, Peter George, Sam Heazlett, Matthew Kuhnemann, Marnus Labuschagne, Michael Neser, Mark Steketee, Sam Truloff, Jack Wildermuth.
